Folktales, Stories, Recipes, and Crafts from the Lands of Elves and Faeries
Stories of the elven tribes have been told throughout history, and for some people in the modern world, encounters with elves continue to this day. This book explores the magical territory of Elfland, sharing tales of elves and faeries from Old Norse sagas, Danish ballads, and Tolkien's Mirkwood. From the mound people of Lüneburg Heath to the Elf-maids of the Black Forest, The Lore of Old Elfland brings the shrouded activities of the elves into the light. With recipes, crafts, and an elven herbal, author Linda Raedisch invites you to realize your own vision of Elfland―a vision that is sure to fill your spirit with unexpected wonders and astonishing delights.
"Elves love weddings―probably just as much as hobbits love second breakfasts. This, and other elvish lore, abounds in Linda Raedisch's charming volume, The Lore of Old Elfland in which history and folklore are accompanied with generous doses of craft and fairy tale. On that note, I'm off to make some Christmas Rye Bread (Chapter 7, if you please)..."―Natalie Zaman, author of Color and Conjure and Magical Destinations of the Northeast
"As a lifelong Tolkien devotee, I was delighted to learn more about the origin stories that inspired the elves of Middle-Earth fame in Linda Raedisch's new book. And for that matter, the history of elves in most any Northern European tradition you'd care to investigate. Linda's book is both immersive and conversational, the kind of storytelling that makes you feel as though you're sitting down with the author at her kitchen table over a cup of tea, discussing a rich and fascinating mythological history."―Andrew Beckham, author of The Lost Christmas Gift
"Genre-defying and filled with etymological and archaeological nuggets, The Lore of Old Elfland takes its readers on a deep dive into Faerie and reveals tantalizing glimpses through the mists of pre-history into its possible connections with the ancient folk of the Old North. Lovers of Middle Earth will delight to wander in its pages!"―Philip Chase, PhD, Professor of English and Philosophy at County College of Morris
"As she has done in the past, Linda Raedisch asks us to join her on a lichened limb to gaze into the possible origins of a magical world. Your quest begins at the crossroads where history and folklore meet. Just follow the signs to 'Old Elfland.' You can't miss it. In fact, don't miss it. It's well worth the journey."―Frank Black and Haley Comet, WBGU Dead Air Paranormal Talk Radio

Absolutely amazing energy! This store has everything I needed to get started on my spiritual journey. The owner Heather and the boy she had helping her were truly kind and helpful during my visit. The best part was the extensive collection of books and tarot decks she had in the library area. If you are into this kind of thing you have just got to visit.

As I was on my journey for my own spiritual enlightenment I discovered there were very few places to help me. I wanted to make the journey for others to travel easier and Mystical Moon was born. It has grown from a small traveling vendor show setup to what are we today.
